With a softer tone than many of our other tracks, “Waterfall Blues” is a love song that gives a heavy heart space to breathe while reflecting on the joys and contradictions of love and home life in a time of social unrest. While musically more within the Folk-Rock tradition, the song follows a variation of Blues form, and the lyrics carry a rawness and vulnerability that cry out like a Blues song. The flute solo offers an uplifting respite from the tensions and anxieties that surround us today as we struggle with the uncertainties of a global pandemic, rising unemployment, financial insecurity, and popular uprisings. The track reminds us that taking time to nurture ourselves and our souls is vital to being able to survive and emerge from these times intact.
lyrics
Oh, my lover, I’m comin home to you again!
Oh, my lover, I’m-a comin home to you again!
I wanna stay there beside you, darlin, every second that I can!
Like a waterfall, we make music that attacks
just like a waterall, we’re makin music that attacks
I wanna lay down beside you, baby, run your rivers down my back
When I go astray,
you always know what to say
Even when money is scarce,
I’m never really scared
As long as I am with you,
I’m happy even when I’m
Blue
It’s the cold season, in this cold, wicked world
yea it’s the coldest season of this cold and wicked world
we gotta love on each other just to bring back some fire to our souls
We’re in trouble, Lord, Oh, we’re just hangin by a thread
We’re in big trouble, Lord, oh, all life is hangin by a thread
Won’t you take pity on us -- for whatever lies ahead!
When I go astray,
you always know what to say
Even when money is scarce,
I’m never really scared
As long as I am with you,
I’m happy even when I’m
Blue

Fresh latin hip hop fusion telling a story of the epochal crossroads we have reached. Can't recommend this album highly enough to hip hop heads, latin music lovers, and revolutionaries everywhere. Adam Gottlieb & OneLove
One of the most profound albums I’ve heard in a long time. Grounded in struggle, with an arc that shows clear artistic integrity with an underlying spirituality, without ever preaching or ranting. Adam Gottlieb & OneLove
Such beautiful music. Intelligent songwriting and arrangements, clean production. Jazzy, spacious, classic. Feels like a musical descendent of Jamila Woods, Tracy Chapman, India Arie, and Akenya. Adam Gottlieb & OneLove

Sanguine but uplifting, the Toronto singer-songwriter's "transfigured" folk songs ponder existential themes with grace and wonder. Bandcamp New & Notable Jun 21, 2023
